FAQ on Window Repair in Minsk — Master Dmitry Answers
I have gathered answers to the questions that I am most often asked by the people of Minsk and Minsk district.
Why is window adjustment at 50 rubles, not 30 rubles, like the competition?
To compare prices, you need to understand exactly what is included in the concept of «adjustment» often low price — it's just a master's turn and a couple of eccentric twists. I mean by regulation a complex of tasks: diagnosing the geometry of the shutter, checking all the mechanisms, lubricating, adjusting the pressure across the perimeter, and also free maintenance consultations.
How long have you been working?
Hello! I have been repairing and servicing plastic windows since 2003. Behind my shoulders — thousands of repaired windows and balcony doors in Minsk and the region. All the experience — from assembly and installation to complex post-warranty repairs — I apply in my work. I am not a «firm», but a private master, so I am personally responsible for quality and value my reputation.
What kind of window profiles do you work with?
I work with all kinds of PvH profiles: REHAU, VEKA, KBE, Salamander, Trocal, LG and others, including lesser-known brands.
What is a break-in window?
An anti-crack window is a window with a special fitting that makes it difficult to break through the outside. This fitting uses reinforced squeeze bars and response boards with reinforced grip. When you try to press the shutter, they do not let it open.
What kind of windows are you repairing?
I specialize in repairing plastic windows (PVC) of any manufacturer, as well as balcony doors. Adjustment, replacement of furniture, sealing, restoration of geometry of the barrel, repair after mechanical damage; all this is within my competence. I don't work with wooden or aluminum windows.
You got a free ride?
Free admission and diagnosis — provided that you agree to the repair. In this case, the cost of admission is included in the work and you do not pay separately. If you only need on-site consultation without further repair (for example, to assess the condition of the windows before selling the apartment), such admission is paid separately — now it is 20 rubles.
Should the furniture on the plastic window in the new building be replaced with a more expensive one?
The answer is no. In terms of basic functions (opening, closing, ventilation) even cheap furniture is fine. My experience shows that the cost is not always equal to reliability; breakdowns happen with both budget and premium brands.
It is worthwhile to change the furniture to a more expensive one if:
- you are not satisfied with the function (for example, no micro-ventilation, anti-fracking properties);
- old furniture is already worn and needs to be replaced (you can choose an expensive analogue if you want);
- you want to improve your comfort (smoother movement, drivers, etc.).
If the furniture is working properly and you're comfortable with it, you don't have to spend it on replacement.
Call or write, I'll be happy to answer!
