When simple window adjustment doesn 't help: case of complex geometry (Minsk)
You often hear the advice: 'just turn the furniture with the key and everything will be fine'; unfortunately, in reality this does not always work.
The original situation
I was approached with a complaint about window blows, especially the ones that are felt from the edges of the entire fence. The window was already being adjusted two years ago, and for a while the problem was solved. But after two years, the blows came back.
Why didn't the usual adjustment help?Because the problem was not simply the sliding of the shutter, but the geometry of the window itself. When we looked at it carefully, it was clear that the window frame was not the perfect rectangle; it had a small but critical deformation.
The sealer was in perfect condition and no need to change it.
The complicating factor: role models
The problem was complicated by the fact that the stacks (planks holding the glass packets) were glued with a guide for the roller-shtore, which meant that it was impossible to dismantle the vertical stacks to access the glass packets without damaging the guides.
How the Problem Was Solved
I had to act non-standard:
- A cross-section of the horizontal sticks.I took the top and bottom of the sticks off carefully, leaving the vertical ones in place, and through the cracks that formed, I was able to access the glass packaging and the support plates.
- Exhibiting geometry.With the help of the adjusting plates, I altered the position of the glass packaging to compensate for the deformation of the frame and to achieve the perfect fit of the shutter across the perimeter.
- Replacing the two response plans.The original planks didn't allow the right grip to be set because of the same curvature, so I installed new response planks that ensured a tight and even grip of the pins.
After all the manipulations, the window was assembled, adjusted and checked for inflation.
The Conclusions
If your window is bloating and a simple adjustment (turning the shutter, pulling the pedal) doesn't help, don't waste time trying to be useless. It's probably more profound: the geometry of the frame or the shutter is broken, the glass packaging is incorrectly installed, the answering boards are worn out.
